Flu tests are ordered almost exclusively during flu season (late Fall through early Spring). Symptoms of flu are headaches, fever, chills, muscle aches, weakness, fatigue, a stuffy nose, sore throat and cough. If influenza has already been identified in the community, your physician may order a flu test to confirm the diagnosis before providing treatment.
